Terms & Conditions / Refund Policy
A non-refundable deposit must be paid in Sterling either by bank transfer, cash, bank draft (or UK cheque) upon booking a place at the school. The course place will only be confirmed upon receipt of the deposit. The balance payment must then be made by a deadline of 30 days prior to the course commencement date (arrival day in the UK). If payment is not received on time, Cotswold International Language School (CILS) reserves the right to give the place to another student or cancel the course. In the event of this, or in the event of student cancellation before the course start date, the deposit will not be returned. CILS reserves the right to cancel a course no later than 25 days before the course start date. In the event of this happening, all students will be offered either alternative dates or a full refund (including the deposit). Students travelling from outside the European Union may be given a full refund of course fees and deposit on the basis of their student visa application being declined providing that: a) the student provides satisfactory evidence that the visa was rejected (Cotswold International shall have the final decision on what is deemed as suitable evidence), and b) that the student notifies Cotswold International at the earliest possible time. Students who have had their visa rejected due to information that was not disclosed to the school at the time of booking – such as criminal activity or previous abuse of the visa system – will not be entitled to a refund of the deposit. Students who choose to leave a course early shall not be entitled to a refund of course fees or deposit unless it is for an acceptable reason. CILS shall have the final decision on what is deemed as a suitable reason. Groups of 6 students or more should contact the school for our Group Refund Policy.
All students are responsible for their travel to the UK: We recommend London Heathrow, Bristol and Birmingham International as the closest airports. Students should provide CILS with return flight details no later than seven days prior to arrival date. Individual students should either arrange their own travel within the UK or ask Cotswold International to arrange collection from the airport (a fee is payable). Students travelling on a UK bank holiday may incur charges to cover additional costs met by Cotswold International Language School. Students travelling as part of a group of 6 students or more, may be entitled to free (or subsidised) airport transfers as part of their inclusive fee – please check your course details for confirmation.
Bed & Breakfast and hotel prices quoted in CILS literature are a guideline only. Upon receipt of the deposit and this application form, CILS will search for the most suitable accommodation for the student. The final and accurate accommodation bill will be forwarded with the course invoice. All accommodation will be checked by CILS prior to booking; however, if the student experiences difficulties once in England, CILS will endeavour to find alternative accommodation although this cannot be guaranteed. Please refer to student / group leader handbooks for further details of our complaints procedure regarding accommodation.
Bank holidays: No classes will run on English bank holidays. Alternative classes will be organised for students studying for less than 3 weeks at the school. Students studying on long term courses (4 weeks or more) will not be offered any additional classes.
Medical Information: It is important that any student suffering from medical conditions that may threaten the health or safety of others or themselves must declare the condition plus details of any medication required prior to arrival in the UK.
Intensive courses and summer school students only: Whilst CILS will remain as flexible as possible with excursion locations, it may not always be possible to please all students. In the event of a student choosing not to take an excursion, no refund will be offered and the school will not be responsible for organising an alternative excursion. CILS will guarantee that the half-day excursions will be local to the Cotswolds, whereas the full-day weekend excursion will be to either Oxford, Bath, Bristol, Cardiff, London or Stonehenge & Salisbury. A member of CILS staff will accompany each excursion in case of translation difficulties, however, they will not be acting as tour guides.
Refunds are given at the discretion of Cotswold International Language School.
